Sound Healing with the Drum Practitioner Diploma Course

This training course will give you the confidence to use the drum and rattle for self-healing, helping others, and healing your home and the Earth. Information and wisdom from other cultures are imparted to reinforce up-to-date scientific studies on the use of drum in sound healing.

In many cultures, the shamanic drum is still used to help heal individuals and hold the social fabric of communities together. This course reawakens each student to this healing potential in ourselves and our society. Students are encouraged to develop a deep and personal understanding of themselves as a shamanic healer through reading, study, and dedicated practice.

I know from experience that this will be a transformational experience for you. It is a path of self-development and dedication, as well as an opportunity to be part of a very beautiful community.

We work in circle, and all are equal and important in the circle. Everyone has their own unique frequency to add, and we all support and encourage each other. It is so much more than the description of the content of the modules. This is a path for those who want to be connected to Spirit, connected to Grandmother Earth, Grandfather Sky and all of the directions, allies and helpers.

As well as the benefit of receiving and giving healing sessions, you will develop a close relationship with the Medicine Wheel teachings, which will support you in whatever you do in life. This is one of the fundamentals of the teachings that came directly through my teachers Steven and Renata Ash from Grandfather Wallace Black Elk in my initial Sacred Drumming Practitioner training but are practised by many cultures throughout the world.

In this new course, you will be gaining a deep relationship with the Medicine Wheel. You will learn how to cleanse and clear your energies and your Medicine tools. The first few modules will be concentrated on you finding your allies and power animals. You will be working deeply with the directions of the Medicine Wheel to ensure that you feel supported, grounded, centred and balanced before you begin to work with others.

When you learn the “Sound Healing with the Drum” protocol you will begin to carry out your case studies and start to get experience in allowing healing to flow through your drum.

Before the course starts you will have the opportunity to join us on an additional Drum Birthing workshop to birth your own sacred drum and rattle and this, in itself, is a hugely powerful process. Infusing your own personal medicine into your tools is so important to make them powerful. Read here about my experience making my first 2-sided Inipi drum several years ago.

This year I am co-teaching the course with my dear friend and Sacred Drumming sister Sandie Alderman in East Sussex.

Detailed information on the syllabus, investment, and requirements are here. Make sure to also click on the tutor’s names on the CoSH website training dates page to see specific course details.

Sound Healing with the Drum Practitioner Course:

Aoife and Sandie (both qualified Sacred Drumming Tutors trained by Steven and Renata Ash) look forward to welcoming you onto this year long course where you will dive deeply into connection with your drum, nature and your Spirit within. You will be learning how to give Sound Healing sessions with the drum, but also go on a deep journey of self-healing in the process.

Full details of requirements and prerequisites are here on this page:

However, the main prerequisite is an open heart and a sense of adventure. We work in Sacred Circle and we are all one in the circle.

Frame drums:

We would love you to come on a workshop with us first, to birth your own sacred shamanic-style frame drum which is a powerful and meaningful experience in itself. Alternatively, you may wish to use your own drum (subject to tutor approval).

The Course:

Over the five modules, working with the Medicine Wheel, smudging herbs, animal and plant allies, stone people, and journeying practice, you will strengthen your spiritual relationship with the world around you and become centred and grounded in your body.

As you practice sound healing with drum & rattle, feather work, and group drumming, you will gain confidence in the power of sound and shamanic tools to heal and transform.

All modules and assignments must be completed for the fully accredited Sound Healing With The Drum Practitioner Diploma. A certificate of attendance will be awarded to those not wishing to become a practitioner.

Course Fee: £1,100 which includes all course materials and light refreshments. A non-refundable deposit of £250 on booking secures your place.
